WHY WE HAVE A COMMUNITY ADVISORY BOARD
Road safety is about more than statistics. It is about people, communities, behaviours, culture, access, and everyday realities. Our Community Advisory Board (CAB) brings together people from many different backgrounds to help guide African Brain Child’s road safety and injury prevention work.

The CAB explores the real-world barriers that affect child road safety every day. We look at how to make safety messaging more relatable, accessible, and engaging for children, families, and communities.
TURNING IDEAS INTO ACTION
From Community Ideas to Community Impact - From Brain Awareness Week activities and car seat drives to Halo Beanies that improve pedestrian visibility and the interactive Seatbelt Convincer experience, these initiatives aim to make road safety more engaging, accessible, and community-driven. Together, the CAB helps shape practical solutions that support safer journeys for children and families across South Africa.
